I am completely over the moon to be able to add Sublime Candles by Helen Morgan as a JAG Partner business.
Sublime Candles are a local, North West based company, founded by Helen Morgan in 2013. They are dedicated to producing natural candles and bathing products based on ethical consumerism. None of their product ingredients are tested on animals, they promote fair trade and their products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Natural, Essential oils carry the essence of plants in a concentrated form. They can be used or applied in a multitude of ways and combinations to bring powerful results to the atmosphere and our bodies. All of which help enhance our lifestyle. In addition to these impressive qualities, they often also transfer very pleasurable sensory experiences within minutes because of their fragrances and restorative natures, making them impactful on our brain chemistry, emotional well-being, and spiritual wellness.
As owner of JAG, I cannot praise these candles highly enough. Forget the big name brands of so called 'scented' candles that you might smell for a little while and then find the scents have faded, and forget high street / supermarket copies that are labelled as 'scented' but don't even smell at all once lit. These candles keep their scent from the first time of lighting right until the very end. (That's 55 hours later for the candle tins)!
I can also tell you that my son REALLY loves these *** and takes such delight in sniffing out a new one to try. These candles help to create both a calming atmosphere for my son and a relaxing ambience for me.
Sublime Candles are not available in shops, you can buy them at one of the many craft and gift events that they attend or by mail order, via their website.
* Sublime Candles offer a discount of 10% to all JAG PLUS Members and orders must either be placed via JAG or in person at a craft event by showing your JAG PLUS membership card*
Please visit the Sublime Candles website to see the full range of scents and products and remember to click on their 'Events' tab to find out where and when the next local fair is being held.
*** IMPORTANT - NEVER LEAVE CHILDREN UNATTENDED IN A ROOM CONTAINING A LIT CANDLE ***

Many of our special children really enjoy mood lights, space (planets and stars) etc. and what could be more relaxing than bedtime under the stars! Forget glow in the dark / stick on shapes, this is the next best thing to the real thing.

Have you heard about Leyland's newest place for children? Ruby & Blu is a brand new art studio just a few paces on from Leyland train station. What a fantastic idea - an Aladdin's cave full of craft materials where your child can create their very own masterpiece! A fantastic range of themed parties as well.
JAG PLUS members can enjoy one free adult and child's drink when visiting for an art session at Ruby & Blu.
(HELPFUL HINT : If your child finds being around other children / people difficult, pop along between 11.30 - 13.30. Ruby & Blu do not sell food so lunchtime tends to be quieter). Visit Ruby & Blu's website by clicking HERE.
Fancy a coffee or a yummy cake? Then why not pop along to Aromas on Hough Lane in Leyland.
Aroma's have agreed to offer a discount to any JAG PLUS member that presents their membership card when ordering.
There is so much to choose from - toasties, gorgeous cakes, biscuits, coffees, milkshakes and more so why not pay them a visit in the knowledge that you will be warmly welcomed and save a few pennies in the process!
The lovely people at Jigsaw - Mawdesley Equine & People Trust, have kindly offered a discount to JAG PLUS members of 25% off their usual rate for 'Bob' - the mechanical horse.
Jigsaw are a registered charity set up in 2001 that provide quality care for horses and ponies that would otherwise be 'put down'. They also aim to provide facilities and activities to help educate members of the public in relation to the care, riding and welfare of horses.
It is widely acknowledged that the benefits of children on the Autism Spectrum interacting with horses are many and varied. Commonly called 'Hippotherapy', you can read more about these benefits on the 'Childrens Theraplay' website (A US based organisation), by clicking HERE
'Bob' is the mechanical horse at Jigsaw that is used to assist beginners who have never been on a horse before and also more experienced riders to improve their techniques without having to go out in the cold. (A bonus with the weather we get sometimes here)!
If your child on the Spectrum is genuinelly keen on learning to ride but is perhaps a bit scared to get on a real horse or pony (or you yourself are nervous of how they would cope with riding a real horse), do contact Jigsaw and ask about making a booking for 'Bob'.
You can read more about Jigsaw and what they do, plus see pictures of 'Bob' on their website : http://www.equinextra.com/
SenseToys was set up by parents who have a son with Autism. They are a specialist supplier of toys and resources for children with Autism and other Special Educational Needs. The resources focus on developing communication and interaction skills including sensory toys, wooden toys, chewing and biting toys and much more.

A SenseToys catalogue is available in your JAG Welcome Folder but you can also view the complete range of products on the SenseToys website.
AuKids is a quarterly print magazine providing information, encouragement and support for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Innovative, uplifting, and fun, they also aim to educate society at large that Autism should be seen as a difference rather than a disability.
Ready for when our voluntary paid membership scheme is rolled out, AuKids have kindly offered 10% off an annual subscription to paying JAG members. (Regular price £15.00)
If you've never seen AuKids magazine, we have several back copies at JAG which you are welcome to browse through at one of our meetings. Alternatively, you can view a sample issue online by clicking here.
It's a really great read including book and product recommendations and useful advice on the kinds of topics that I've found really interesting and relevant to everyday life with our children.
(Subscriptions must be set up via JAG to qualify for the 10% discount).
JAG are exceptionally grateful to Cheeky Monkeys Party & Play Centre for allowing us to hold our meetings there every month. For over 4 years, they have maintained their rates for JAG, which is so important as we get no external funding at all. With fun activities and friendly staff, children and their parents love coming to Cheeky Monkeys. They also run a childcare centre and holiday club there and also have a new Laser Land area. To find out more, click here to visit the Cheeky Monkeys website.

I totally recommend Mark's Barbers on Hough Lane in Leyland. If your son has sensory issues and haircuts have always been a nightmare, try Mark's Barbers. I've been taking my son there for nearly 2 years now and Jules there is fanastic with him. Despite all his wriggling, anxiety, dislike of the noise and inability to sit still for long, Jules is so patient and understanding with him and whilst a haircut does still take a reasonable amount of time, I see improvements each time I visit. Thanks so much Jules! (HELPFUL HINT : It can be busy at times but I find the Thursday late evenings a lot quieter). You can give Mark's a try by popping along to 86 Hough Lane, Leyland :
